tri-Ace did not make Eternal Sonata.

But... there name. I saw it every time  turned it on. Who made it then?

tri-Crescendo made Eternal Sonata.  tri-Ace had nothing to do with it.

It appears I've credited Baiten Kaitos to tri-Ace too. I feel stupid now.

Please don't hate me.

But I use that!

Technically speaking, is that trailer better or worse than FFXIII? And I do mean on a technical level.

Nice touch!  I like you, and you're not a noob in my eyes unless you seriously screw it up.  Welcome!

Not impressed.  Naughty Dog shits all over this.

Naughty Dog also just happens to have the backing of a gigantic corporation and probably has a MUCH larger budget than anything tri-Ace has ever had.  I'd say I'm more impressed by tri-Ace's accomplishments than Naughty Dog's.

Dude, hard to fucking compare Naughty Dog to begin with.  Given Japan's rut of staying in shitty graphics, I think this is some accomplishment, you bloody high-standard hooker. >=/

but this blows everything I've ever seen before out of the water.

You serious? I can't believe some people are so impressed by this.

As for the Naughty Dog comparison, it's not about the budget, a lot of games with huge budgets are a technical mess. What they have is people with an unbelievable amount of talent.
Currently playing: Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, Team ICO Collection, Atelier Totori, Child of eden.

Well, not including Crysis, but it's just not fair to compare anything to Crysis.

I think the main argument is: it looks good for something out of Japan that's not Squeenix, Capcom or... um.. Konami...[?].

American develops fucking boomed like crazy graphically, Japan really stayed behind -- I'm always happy with what Tri-Ace can do all things considered.

Why not?  And why even stop at Crysis?  I can think of a lot of games and demos that are more impressive than what that tech demo showed.  All we got to see are two characters, a small room, some standard-fare lighting effects for this generation, and a not-really-detailed open space with some rockets going off in the distance.  Hell, the grass is static and doesn't move despite evidence of wind when a couple of leaves fly by.  This blows away everything you've ever seen?

Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSXyztq_0uM

or this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqNHJ-ekMR4

Those are just tech demos, but they are running in real time as well.  There's plenty of games to check out that are more visually stunning than that tech demo on PS3, 360, or PC.

Seriously people, do you have any idea how much the best developers in the world have been working to squeeze every bit of performance out of these consoles? Do you seriously expect a company like Tri-Ace to set the world on fire with their tech? Do you really expect these guys to find something that developers like ND, GG, Crytek, etc haven't? Get real.

HURRDURR THE GRAPHICS ARE CRAP THEREFORE THE GAME IS CRAP.

I can hear some Motoi Sakuraba works in the music in the trailer. This does not surprise me. And as always, I heavily approve.

Personally, I'm glad that tri-Ace took the time to do this demo because it showed that they can do human proportions instead of creppy soulless designs of characters based on animu art style.

Seriously, Star Ocean 4 is creppy as hell. Thankfully, End of Eternity fixed that problem (for the most part, anyway).

Here I'm hoping that their next game is not a sequel. I rather see this technology debuting with something new.

Really? I thought SO4 looked pretty good actually, certainly some frame rate issues but I liked the look and feel overall, now the voice acting, yikes, I turned it to Japanese an hour into the game and I don't understand a word, but at least it wasn't obnoxious like the English. However, while I have Resonance of Fate I haven't actually played it yet, if it looks that much better overall than SO then I'm really looking forward to it.

SO4 was an abomination and Tri-Ace is an outdated developer.

And yet, people buy ImageEpoch and Compile Hearts titles.
