BWAHAHA in the 2nd video they show one of the characters insert a top secret
VHS tape
Ancient, unalterable technology. Man, those crafy umbrella...geniuses?
Maybe it's a record of an older experiment that never was converted over to DVD? Even in this day and age there are certain movies/shows that you can only watch on rare VHS tapes. Considering that's just produced material it'd make sense for a VHS or two from someone's private collection to have never made the leap between tech upgrades.
In hindsight that's also a pretty good way to keep random people from just going over your data. If Scooby and the Gang crawls around your top secret lab and finds an SD card or DVD all they have to do is plug it into their laptop on site and gain access to all your evil secrets. An obsolete piece of tech where you have to hunt down an antique and pray it even works? Not quite as easy to do.
In additional comparison think of it this way; here in 2012 which top secret file do you think will be uncovered more quickly? A file hidden away on a net-linked computer under layers upon layers of encryption and security; or a file stored a floppy disk laying in the back of Agent Bob's desk with the unused stamps and twice bent paper clips? XD Considering hackers pretty much get into everything these days, my money's on the floppy.
