So they finally showed some pics of the Tranformers.

Copy and paste the links.

http://bin.4chan.org/m/src/1155960758559.jpg  - Optimus Prime
http://bin.4chan.org/m/src/1155962187819.jpg  - Starscream
http://bin.4chan.org/m/src/1155961232569.jpg  - Scorponok
http://bin.4chan.org/m/src/1155962258188.jpg  - Blackout
http://bin.4chan.org/m/src/1155930994848.jpg  - Bumblebee

Some are obviously pics for the movie toyline, but a good indication how they will look on the big screen.
They look pretty frakkin' sweet, although bit disappointed in Starscream.
I know I will buy the toys right away when they're released.

-Edit-  Site wont link , so copy&paste guys

And just for reference, here is the list of confirmed characters, as posted on the official site.

Autobots
    [*]Optimus Prime
    [*]Bumblebee
    [*]Jazz
    [*]Ratchet
    [*]Ironhide
Deceticons
      [*]Megatron
      [*]Starscream
[*]Scorponok (or, as Yahoo spells it, Skorpinok)
      [*]Brawl
      [*]Bonecrusher
      [*]Frenzy
      [*]Blackout
      [*]Barricade
I'm guessing that the Decepticon police car that appeared on the internet at the same time as the pictures of Bumblebee is Barricade, and the mean looking tank is probably Brawl. Not too sure at the lack of Autobots. I mean, where's Prowl, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, the Dinobots, etc?

I'm starting to warm to the designs of the robots. They remind me of the character designs from the 'Robots in Disguise' series, which (hopefully) means the toys shold all be very articulated, but (unfortunately) quite delicate. Can't wait to see Scorponok in robot form! The rumours of him fighting the US army in the desert sound awesome!

Why does Optimus Prime look like he visited the set of Pimp My Ride?

      "They destroyed my childhood YARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH"

I think they look okay. Optimus Prime looks a bit strange though. And Bumblebee shouldn't look badass.

To be fair, there's always naysayers. Outside of Bumblebee (and maybe Starscream), I want to wait and see how they look in motion, or for finalized pics.

No see, that's not even CLOSE to Starscream. That looks more like Beast Wars Scorponok than Starscream.

      THIS is motherfucking Starscream.

Which is why I'm weary of the Starscream design too. :P

I've said ever since the first picture of Bumblebee got leaked a few weeks back that it seemed that they were going for a very skeletal, almost delicate look for the characters, very much in-keeping with the Robots in Disguise (the follow-up to Beast Wars/Machines) series and the Alternator toys. Which is good in a way, because it means the toys will be incredibly articulated, but also very easy to break.

I've had a problem with Bumblebee's design ever since I found out he wasn't gonna be a VW. Prime is still very much Prime, despite his visit to the Pimp my Ride guys (And, at 50 ft tall in robot form, he is gonna be impressive!), Blackout looks awesome, Barricade and Brawl should be interesting when we get their Robot forms, too.

Which brings us onto Starscream. I'm just gonna come right out and say it, I like the design! I really do! The whole wings-forming-the-chest thing, that's pretty cool. I think Bay is following the ethos introduced in War Within (whereby the Decepticons were Cybertron's "Expasionary Army," who would seek out new worlds to colonise, whilst the Autobots were the scientist and administrators who would run the planets colonised/conquered by the 'Cons), hence the fact that Starscream's hands are guns. The only bit I can't stand about the design is the head. 'Scream's always had a very humanoid face in all of his incarnations, this just doesn't seem to fit.

I think the biggest problems most fans have with this film stem from the fact that it's following one of the basic rules of film-making; you do not make a film for a niche of fans, you make it so that it will appeal to a wider audience and actually make money. And this is coming from possibly the biggest Transformers fan-boy/geek on these boards!

I'm gonna reserve full judgement until I see some of these guys moving. Also, I'm waiting with some anticipation/a mild sense of dread to see what they're gonna do with Jazz, Ratchet, Ironhide, Frenzy, Bonecrusher and, of course, Megatron.

Oh, and Scorponok had better transform or there'll be hell to pay!

Well, a visit to 'Pimp my ride' = redesigning to appeal to more than just that niche. Giving a bug head instead of Starscream's normal head =/= a change needed to appeal to more. I might be wrong about that, but I think that was less something to appeal more, and more an artistic decision.

The Prime look I can live with, but I'm still left wondering 'why?' at half these designs. Trying to appeal to non-fans is fine, but you can still make them look cool without having to butcher the original design this way. Especially in cases like Bumblebee and Starscream.

I honestly just think Bay's running away with his own vision of things and has no regard for anything the fans actually want. I can understand the mentality, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
