The bestiary is definitely going to be the most time consuming, unless you're unlucky with the Casino Fragment. Half of the issue stems from actually encountering the monsters in the first place. There's an annoying set of normal monsters, for example, in the Vile Peaks 10 AF that took me forever to get to appear. Many people complain about the one in Oerba 400AF, but I actually found that one annoyingly frequent.

Just finished getting lightning and amodar. God damn talk about low crystal drop rates. 10 fights for lightning, and another 3 for amodar. Btw, Lightning is a beast, and amodar is just seriously strong. I still wanna work on odin before playing with them, but goddamn are they broken. They're early peakers, so lvl 20 caps sadly, plus they're 5 sta....err monster, so they need the expensive materials to level up. Gonna have my work cut out for me. Good thing bestiary is so annoyingly long to finish.

I finished my Odin tonight. He makes me mad! When the enemy is staggered, he casts magic, of all things! That's all he does - "Stagger: Drain." No physical attacks when Staggered, which kind of. . .ruins the entire point of him on some enemies, especially because his casting time is horribly slow. Hopefully I can find some way around this.
Ugh, I'm just going to stick with my Tonberry as a Commando.

Rank 5 monsters are actually some of the easiest to level up. Go to Archylte Stepp, turn the weather conditions over to that 'dust storm' state, go over to the western half of the map, and then turn on 'Encounter More Monsters'. It also helps if you have the 'Collector Catalog' from the Chocobo Races.
Just grind for a while, avoiding any drawn out encounters with the Chocobo or giant lizard thing, and you'll fight quite a bit of the 'Microchu' (I think that's the name; that ugly pod-enemy with legs and a tail). They drop Rank 5 Bio monster material at a rate of about 4 per fight; if you 5 Star it.

You'll get 5-6 Crystals per Miniochu battle if you have the Durable Collector Catalog from the Chocobo Races. Upgrade it at Chocolina and you'll be rolling in drops. Never take it off.

I gave her a lightning mask, so I can have my lightning with my lightning. I gave amodar the red propeller. He looks so cute now.

Hah, I'm so far behind you guys, it's not even funny. My componant cable went out, and I ordered a new one. I can use a short HDMI, but i have to rewire my room every time to do it. So for the moment, I'm spending my (little) down time watching episodes of Doctor Who until my 25' component cable comes in. I have a weird setup where my consoles are on a far wall with a switcher, and I have to run a 20' cable around my computer and synthesizer to the TV. HDMIs often start to fail at 20' or longer, so I use componant instead. Also, for some reason, my TV looks a lot better on analog than digital (probably a cheap DAC). Maybe I should think about re-arranging my room, though... I need to install new speakers on my wall, and I'm finding that I don't have enough room for them.
Anyway, I only just got to Sunleth Waterscape, and met up with bozo the clown, who Noel rightly puts in his place. What a prick. What does Serah see in that guy?

The scene with Noel in the Waterscape gave me a happy feeling for the rest of the day. He said everything I've wanted Snow to hear since XIII.

For best results, when given the option, after Noel says some deep and emotional tidbit about Yeul, say "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

Serah has the best blonde moments ever. Her and Snow make the perfect couple. In the offset chance of a xiii-2 movie, stallone for snow would be perfect, and make serah paris hilton. Genius fucking casting.
So I just need the last 3 paradox endings and the bestiary for full fragment completion. Dunno if I wanna bother with platinum yet, seeing as there is more content otw. Already at 70% trophy completion. Best trophy so far was giant fist, aka max damage in a single move. I was fighting ultra super final boss 3, and the jerk used dying sun on me as I went for noel's meteor javelin with him at 999% chain bonus, which was gonna kill him. Sure enough, trophy pops up, boss finishes dying sun, part was wiped out. He was dead too, but caius said screw the rules I am immortal, and I had to fight him again. Such bullshit.

I agree, S&S make a good couple.
(Also loved their scenes in XIII, but I'm a sentimental fool.)
I'm glad they haven't made Noel have a thing for her.
