I like Snow. He's hammy and you shouldn't take him seriously. Which is awesome in a game that takes itself way too seriously sometimes.

Vanille is ten times more interesting since she's trolling the party for like, 2/3 of the game.

He really rubbed me the wrong way after a while.  Noel puts him in his place for exactly the main reasons why I dislike him.

In XIII, there was one scene I believe Chapter 12, before you do the Fang/Bahamut battle - that scene really annoyed me.  I wanted to hit him; I usually consider myself a very tolerant person, as well.

My problem with that scene wasn't that Snow was being a whiny douche at that particular point so much as that there really wasn't any sort of believable progression between his "I'M A HERO!!!" state and "Brooding over Serah-chan" state. He and everybody else takes a face full of plot, reacts badly to it, then gets better over the course of the next hallway and two boss fights, one of which is there for no god damn reason and the other comes out of nowhere because the other half of the party needs Transformers and they're literally a cutscene away from Alefgard/The Land Down Under where the training montage can begin.

The tl;dr is that FFXIII-1 is a fucking tech demo. FFXIII-2 is the game FFXIII-1 would've been had it not been a tech demo instead.

Snow is a meathead. Parn said it pretty well (my college frat president comment was better), he is the cool kid on the block 10 years after the kids all grew up. Love his theme, though.

His theme is garbage.  It's like some shit you'd hear in the background with token guitar riffs as you watch kids do some skateboard stunts.  Snow is literally Poochie.

Everything about that character is terrible.

I'm pretty partial to good metal, and Snow's theme takes the cake. Great stuff. Unfortunately, it plays at the volume of a whisper the first time you see snow, just like all the other music in that game, because they didn't bother gain controlling the music, so to be on the "safe side", they just muted everything!

I get the Snow hate. What I totally don't understand is all the Vanille hate. I thought she was one of the better side characters. I thought she turned out to be a fairly strong character. Sure, she had a slightly girly personality, but not as much as I think people thought she would. She's no Yuffie or Selphie.

I don't mind Vanille. Her crisis moment was really artificial though, and came out of nowhere, It left me really scratching my head. I think it's just the general player's unwillingness to accept the 'genki girl' trope played to maximum effect.

I usually like the Selphie types, but I loathed Vanille, even after her lauded change in character.

Vanille can eat my ass hair, I hate that bitch. Her accent is annoying, her attack animations were wtf SLOW, and she was the only fucker who had death as a spell, meaning I had to use her for certain fights which I hated having to do. FUCK vanille, at least hope just whined alot during the game, he was way more tolerable as a magic user. Miss the days when he was getting punked on everybody hates chris though.

It seems she might well be more polarizing than Hope.
