The Sazh DLC is pretty worth it. The Chronobind game they added is fucking addictive.

Anyone else play it?  How long is the DLC?  Does it add anything actually useful to the story?

Does FF13-2 add anything useful to RPG-storylines in general?
Do it for Black History Month.

Last night I downloaded the episode of Sazh but I can't find a way to access to it. I know that I'm doing something terribly wrong here, so please, can someone tell me how I manage to play it?

Not really, but it gives you an easy way to get casino coins and Chronobind is awesome.

Check the Historia Crux. There should be a node near the bottom that says 'Serindipity ???AF'.  That's what you want.

Also, Chronobind IS addictive.

There are some tracks in XIII-2's soundtrack I'm absolutely in love with. This one for example, even a friend of mine who doesn't give a crap about RPGs loved it!
Another one is Serah's Theme with vocals It is so relaxing.

With songs this good I truly wonder why in XIII SquareEnix goes with that horrible Leona Lewis crap.

The leona lewis song in xiii wasn't terrible. Most of the music in xiii was pretty good still, but xiii-2 is so much betterer.

TASTY!

After hearing FF13-2's ending theme.... I fucking LOVE Leona Lewis for giving something with soul.  None of that "Dear my friend" bullshit in the JPN one.

I don't understand Square penchant for absolute CHEESE in their ending themes.  Mind you, I did listen to it at EBGames for 3 months in the trailers.  Problem: I hated it the first time I heard it.

I don't really like these songs with vocals though...  They can be good, but I'm not a fan of the vocalists they used, and I'd rather they stick with straight instruments.  I don't need game music to sing nonsensical-emotional lyrics to me.

"The prophecies fortell us of the end.  It doesn't mean we have to believe them".  Yeah, I get it.  Story significant.

Melodies of Life will be forever in my mind *the* Final Fanatsy song that I'll never stop to love. But the ending theme of XIII-2 has been one the best in recent memory.

That said, last month I heard Maybe Tomorrow from Xenosaga III and yes it is great in comparison to the many FF singles out there.

That's why they're actually good vocal tracks, though; for the most part, they're sung well, and they don't have Engrish lyrics, and they tie to the story. The vocal tracks are incredible, especially the BGM behind them.

The Ruined Hometown Lyrics were a bit too much for me, too.  I like the song, but that one line Dice mentioned does make me cringe a bit.

However, Yeul's Theme and the vocalized Noel's Themes are very pleasant.  Yeul's lays on the sap without being corny, except one or two of the lines comes out too fast or too stilted given English's longer sentences that the writer didn't seem to take into account or his lack of knowledge of fluid English music in general.  I'm also fond of Plains of Eternity, despite its cheezy lyrics.  I think it's because it's so upbeat that I can accept it as pop-y and sappy more easily than the serious songs, much like how the Engrish is more tolerable in Persona.
