The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. So the publication of this omnibus edition seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight--or at least firmly crooked.

P3's not for everyone. I just wanted to call someone a son of a bitch today. :P

I like and sympathize with this. xD

I thought the whole gun-to-the-head P3 summoning was really...well, EMO and a FUCKING HALF and dumb.  I didn't like the game for the fucking tartarus mostly, but found it alright otherwise.  I don't understand the appeal of the story other than the strong character building... that's all it is, right?

Well, the gun to the head thing was more of a symbol of fatalism. As the characters proceed they grow out of their respective problems and overcome what's basically the culmination of mankind's fatalism, so...

Dude.  Emo-lead puts a gun to his head.  I call that pretension.

I preferred the development in P4, it felt a bit more down to earth and relateable.

I call horseshit, my booze is watered down, and Yoda's counting cards.

Also, fuck I have a terrible case of heartburn.

Story isn't that bad. Still like it better than persona 3, but I truly hate persona 3. Besides, the gameplay and music still give the game a good feel. The characters are likeable, the fights were challenging at times....sort of, and overall the game was well made. Yes, the story was pretty terrible, at least the ending was cool. Plus, Caius is awesome.
People very much exaggerate it. XIII-2's story is actually good, it's just not told very well. Caius is probably the best villain the series has had since Kuja.

You're right, not that this is a very hard feat to accomplish.

If XIII-2's story is good, then we've put the final nail on the coffin of videogame storytelling.

It's also easy to think it's good if you go in with really, REALLY low expectations. I'd take this over SO4 any day, at least FFXIII-2 seems to know HOW to have fun with itself.

Yeah, I think that may be what bittered you to 13-2, Ashton. You played Mass Effect 3, which was a good story SHUT UP YES IT WAS A GOOD STORY, and then followed it with 13-2 which was infinitely less impressive. I went into 13-2 having just finished 13. I had absolutely nowhere to go but up from there.
