It's not a digital download, it's the retail game, and it was probably a mistake so they'll probably cancel all pre-orders. You can't even place new ones now, and I didn't bother placing one myself since I figured this was going to happen.

Amazon is currently running a promotion on the Xbox 360.  The 4 GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle or the 250 GB Xbox 360 stand-alone model gets you $50 in store credit.  I ended up buying the Kinect bundle and ordered a hard drive separately which is also cheaper on Amazon than retail, basically giving me the equivalent of the $399 Xbox 360 with Kinect for $320.

Now I need to sell my current Jasper 360.

On that note, Child of Eden was the reason I finally bought the Kinect bundle.  I was on the fence, but the promotional credit on Amazon was the deciding factor that tipped me towards getting it.

Since cell phones kinda count as game devices now, Radioshack is offering 100 bucks off an Evo 3D releasing next friday, the 24th, if you trade in your old Evo with a 2 year upgrade. Pretty decent considering how the 3D Evo is a dual core processor now, and still costs as much as the old Evo did 3 weeks ago.

Not if a typical game takes you +/- 3 months to play through. Obviously, some games take less, but for someone like me, Gamefly would actually end up costing me more. I comment because I've thought about it before.

It can also distract from games you bought and put on a sense of pressure that can suck the fun out. That wasn't a problem I had with rentals years and years ago, but I think the change in design and the lack of a hard return limit have caused that, only stuff like Sonic Colors was easy to just drop and return.

Gamefly can be a really great deal with used games though. Every 3-6 months you get a coupon to save 5-10 bucks off a purchase on their site. Since you can keep any game you rent for a used price, I can get games for dirt cheap. The best deal might have been a square enix game where normally I'd be charged 40 new, 25 used and then with the cupon I saved another 5 bucks. They also ship you all the game related materials (box, etc) for free.
