Just pre-ordered the 3G version and Uncharted. I really think that Sony is going to kick Nintendo's ass this time around. I have a 3DS but barely played it; the 3D is a gimmick and the lineup is still weak, especially for RPG fans.

Very interesting interview with Sony's Shuhei Yoshida, if you're interested in the vita you'll want to read this:

But when consumers are saying it, I really don't understand. It really depends on the types of consumers. If you are a very, very casual person who might just want to kill time as you're waiting for your train or something, you might not need a dedicated, big game experience. But if you like games, if you really love games, you would want to play the kind of games you like, even on the portable.

Damn fucking right.

Man, I'm really interested in how that D-pad feels.  I'm not crazy about the left analog stick location, so I hope that D-pad is good.

Vita is pure gaming-gadget sexyness. I agree w/ Akanbe-, analogs looks too low and I can see that being uncomfortable, but chances are really high of me getting this even though I just got a PSP and love the library there.

External battery:

Doubles battery life.

Shuhei Yoshida (president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, in case you didn't know) has tweeted that Vita will be region-free.

And there was much rejoicing.

Sure it's been hinted at already, but an (official?) confirmation is still damn good news.

The PlayStation Vita in 2011-2012

A list of (almost?) all the big games that the Vita is going to have at launch and next year.

Hmm...four games of interest. One I know will never make it stateside and the other I'm considering passing on just by virtue of the fact that the creator seems to have an H-game character design obsession. Not sure if two games will be enough to justify picking it up at launch. Might just snag the D3 port and tuck it away until the inevitable price drop.

I expect Wipeout to be part of the European launch line-up.
