Release date is October 13th in Japan... I will be interested to see if it actually makes it to the west. I doubt it.

Why wouldn't it make it to the west? Its an FF game after all.

Because people are either unrealistically pessimistic or forget that games can be released on more than one platform.

So do you think they would release it on both PSP and Vita, or just wait until the Vita is released? That seems a bit foolish to wait for the Vita given that it's hard to estimate first adopter numbers unless they make it a launch title.

And congrats on the post count over 9000. =P

http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2011/1882.html Trailer!

And yes, it's coming here. They even stated that again recently. They're just deciding 'how' to bring it here. (I don't know if this means they're considering making it PSN only, or putting it on the Vita, or what since they never really said.)

"Destiny, can I choose my destiny, or is it my destiny to follow my destiny? No, I shall choose my own destiny for it is my destiny to choose my destiny! This destiny is my destiny and it is my destiny to follow my destiny that I chose to be my destiny! HAHAHAHAHA FRIENDSHIP!!"

Yep, its Final Fantasy alright.
I can't say I like what they showed of the battle system, but it does look potentially better than XIII, and that's a good start. Still not convinced but at least its on my radar now.

Final Fantasy Type-0's Odaiba demo preview is in full swing, and to celebrate, Square-Enix has released a small sample CD.

The tracks currently remain nameless, but provide a wide range of Takeharu Ishimoto's score. You may even recognize some of them from past trailers.

You can check out each of the tracks below:

DEMO 01
DEMO 02
DEMO 03
DEMO 04
DEMO 05

Please look forward to the full soundtrack when it releases.

Takeharu Ishimoto has worked in the music of The World Ends with You, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and many others soundtracks with various composers in the past.

Eugh. The artstyle is as generic and bland as they come. Am I the only one worried that the battle system looks kind of like Parasite Eve 3's?

If I had seen that pic without the article I never would've guessed that's shiva. The main characters seem to be wearing more clothes than usual so I think this makes up for it.

From http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/07/26/ff_type_zero_interview/:

Quote
Type-0 was announced in 2006. At the time, only Tabata, Naora and Tetsuya Nomura were on the staff. Work was being done on Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII, so it was only in 2008 that actual development began. Even then, the development team had to work on The 3rd Birthday, so Type-0's development was kept at a minimum level for about a year.

Why announce a game two years before starting development?  Sometimes I really don't understand what S-E is thinking...

Anyway, the game looks good.
