I'm waiting for FFT as well - I'll be reviewing it for the site.  The crappy translation and Japanese controls ruined the original for me, and the PSP changes made all the difference in the world.  I'm eager (and a little nervous) to see how it fares on iOS.  Kind of wish I had an iPad to see what it looks like on that size screen.

You'd have to wait an extra month. The iPad version is an HD port, you see. I have wanted this game since I was researching PSP games to buy for my friend's birthday, but other than Fire Emblem and Yggdra Union, she claims to hate SRPGs. I was left alone in the world without access to some of the greatest games to grace this console: Tactics Ogre, Jeanne d'Arc, Trails in the Sky, and of course War of the Lions. But alas! There is hope for me! What do you think the price will be for this game? $15 seems like a safe bet, but something tells me it might be more.

Also, I tried the Deathsmil demo and loved it. Awkward controls if anything comes at you from the left though. I can't remember for the life of me if it's a plain side-scrolling shooter or a side-scrolling shooter with RPG elements, so I'll post this bit of info anyways.

I'd be shocked in a very bad way if it cost more than $15.  Shocked in a "I'm not buying this" way, if I wasn't reviewing it.  And since I am, shocked in a "my review will ask the question of whether this really provides enough value over other iOS games to justify the price" way.

I'm really hoping for sub-$10.

I'd still get it. I want this game and a $20 price-tage won't push me away.

And to whoever has played Zenonia: how do I tell how hungry Reret is other than looking at my SP bar?

Think that's all you can do - watch the bar.  The amount it's filled up goes down as you use SP, and the amount you can fill it up goes down based on how hungry he is.  But I think it only shrinks 1/4 at a time.

Well, it looks like we have some more information on FFT for iOS.  It will be out this Thursday, August 4th, and it will be $16.  They also provide a gameplay video done by Famitsu.  I was a little worried since the video had sound issues at first but it looks like its been fixed based off the assurances of the Square-Enix employees.  As long as there are no slow down or sound issues, I will be a happy camper.

$16 does seem a little high though since its PSP counterpart is selling for $10 I believe.  It will just be nice to have it on my iOS devices though.

$16?  Dang. I stand by what I said before.  That's too much.

I will say that I bought it and have started playing, but I'll leave anything further for my review.  Hope to blaze through this and get it up quickly.

I'm loving it so far. I can see the story sailing over my head at times in the future though.

How is the loading times?  What device are you playing it on?  Are there any major gameplay breaking issues?

The loading times are fine, but if the phone is off for a bit there'll be lag for a minute. iPhone 3GS. Not really, but you can't pause the animated scenes or the sound lags a lot.

Having learned about Guardian Saga through Mike's iOS update I grabbed it and gave it try. Doesn't seem too bad for $2, but I wish it followed DQ's model for sending you back to the last place you saved upon dying, especially since it left a bugged autosave.

Any chance we'll be seeing an android variant? Not an iphone fan, and my sister isn't willing to swap phones for a couple days, so it's either on my samsung infuse or stuck on my psp. Also, s it supporting the multiplayer component too?
