A place to decide the most popular RPG.

Hello,

I am new and I hope i am not breaking any of the forum rules.

I have created a big list of over 700 RPGs in a place where you can vote once a day for your(s) favorite(s)

I would be very happy to have the RPGFan member opinions about what is the best RPG ever.

The aim is to get a ranking reflecting the liking of as many gamers as possible to determine the number 1 game.

I just want to mention that I REALLY HATE these things.

They just list what's popular, not what's good. Also different strokes for different folks, there are RPG types I loathe (like dungeon crawlers) versus RPG types I love (like action adventures).

Besides, most of the participants are going to be 12 year olds (which, granted, is the average poster's age on this site), and are unlikely to have experienced the wonders and horrors that RPGs can reach (for example, the tabletop RPG FATAL).

the best rpg ever eh?

correct me if I'm wrong....but there have been more than 700 rpgs out there.... well and even if we stay with the number 700 as the basis....we would still need somebody who has actually experienced all those rpgs....

ps: i don't see the rpg genre dying anytime soon.... thus it is also too early to determine anything as "best ever"...

That one! You know, the one about the nondescript kid from some podunk village that gets razed by the evil empire, then he goes off for revenge armed only with a stick. Then he rescues some blue-haired girl with a mysterious pendant from a low level beast and she follows him in the hopes that she'll find some answers about her pendant as he seeks revenge. Somewhere they meat a beast man, a weird little kid, a grizzled veteran soldier at the ripe old age of 21, and a few others.

Yeah, that one!

I'm not sure whether it'll end up being useful for 'best' (Suikoden Tierkreis and IV above Suiko 1...) but it's a great list in it's own right.

Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge at 681 = ultimate wrongness.

Regardless of anything else it is an impressive list, and while many hate ranking and listing many more love it, and it can at least cause discussion and maybe bring something into relevance that is unknown/unheard of or simply forgotten.
