This deserves its own thread.

Here's a comparison video (get ready for some serious goosebumps)

Yes, that music is from the game (ICO to be more specific).

I just found something really awesome, ICO running on the PSone, looks like the game was almost done when they decided to move to the PS2:

Both games are 1080p, 30 fps, 3D support and have lots of extras:

There's nothing like this out there, it's that simple. It's because of games like these that after 23 years of gaming I'm still into it as much as I was back then.
Ueda, I bow to thy.

I refuse to believe that that is PS1 gameplay! That's insane!!

But man, I can't wait to get this!

I watched me some gameplay of shadow last night. Looks beautiful.

How long of a game is Shadow?

ICO: about 5 hours
Shadow: about 8 hours

It's probably possible to speed run ICO in under an hour, and Shadow under two. But, they're the greatest hour for hour you will EVER play, and those memories will last a lifetime.

From what I can tell it's PSone footage up untill around the 1:30 mark, after that it's very early PS2 footage.

Prime, I think the first playthrough of Shadow is longer than that. We have 16 colossi, I think that an average of 30 minutes per colossi is not enough when you don't know how to defeat them, some take a while to figure out and others are pretty far away, it can take up to 15 minutes just to get to them. Definitely 10-12 hours.

A lot of work went into the ICO port, not only has the intro been changed, most textures have been upgraded, it's leagues beyond of what you get with an emulator, unlike most HD ports released untill now:

Trophy list and everything you need to know about the bonus content:

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/08/15/bonus-content-and-trophy-list-for-the-ico-and-shadow-of-the-colossus-collection/

The trophies confirm that it's the European version of ICO:

Split the Watermelon (Gold)
Shining Sword (Gold)

It's funny that when I bought ICO in 2001, I didn't find out that the European version was different until late 2005, after I finished Shadow of the Colossus and got fully into Team ICO.  Makes me happy that everyone will be able to play the complete version of ICO.  I may go play Okage: Shadow King for the PS2 now because I bought it the same time as ICO and Okage is a nice quirky obscure game that I never finished.

I'm ready for this. I'm eager to play a game that's sort of outside my usual big three genre (rpg, shooter, adventure)

I've always liked the art for these games (they're huge Giorgio Di Chirico fans), but never played them.

Own them both on PS2. No doubt I'll be getting this anyway!

I think I'll shed a manly tear to have the collection in my hands.  This will be so fun to platinum :)
