Hello wonderful people.
I have recently discovered the joys of online first-person shooters, by being introduced to Aliens Vs Predator 2. The problem is, as fun a game as it is, it's quite old, and the servers are always pretty empty, which makes it much less fun to play.
So I am looking for recommendations of online PC FPS's to play. Something that's not too serious (like Counterstrike). It's fun to have aliens running around as well as people. Also, nothing brand spanking new, because I won't be able to run it. But obviously I want something that still has fairly busy servers.
If anyone could help me out I would very much appreciate it.

Battlefield is by far the best online FPS. If you want a nice single player FPS, go with Prey, it's also cool.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is a good bet. F.E.A.R. is decent online (and the online portion of the game is now a free download), and spectacular in its single-player campaign.

Unreal Tournament. 99 or 2004. Not 2003. 2004 works on older PCs alright. It also has REALLY GOOD bots.
If you just want singleplayer, Unreal Gold is cheap if you can find it, the Marathon Trilogy is free... Erm, yeah.
