Interesting; I just took a closer look at Mary and it seems her design has some purpose behind.

In addition to her hat's clip being an exact replica of Theodore's (only golden) you'll notice the "clip" holding her bag shut is an exact replica of the ornaments that make up the front of Elizabeth's dress; only golden as well.

This makes me wonder about her belt clip; the heart with a jagged division line and two winger serpents on each side. Is that from anything Atlus related?
