Prinny Bomb

Of course this was hinted at a while ago and I even remember a third party (Good Smile Company, who make the figures and stuff) implying that the localization was already being worked on at Anime Expo, yet NISA has been oddly silent on the topic.  Now it's finally official.

Guess the PSP isn't quite dead in the US yet.

Cool!

I don't have a PSP, but if Vita has decent backwards compatibility, this is definitely a game I'd get.

This looks very nice. I love the whole apocalyptic aspect and the art style looks nice as well. Long live the PSP!, lol

Looks like I'll have to start watching this anime now. So much to read and watch, so little time...

Gather 'round and I shall tell 'ye a tale.  It's actually kind of confusing where BRS came from...

Once upon a time an artist going by 'Huke' posted a character illustration of Black Rock Shooter on Pixiv (a Japanese art sharing site).  At that time that's really all there was to it, like so many other illustrations on that site.  As it happened Ryo from the band Supercell saw the illustration, like it, and decided to make a song about it.  He used the vocaloid Hatsune Miku to do it and this was right around the time the whole vocaloid phenomena was starting to take off.  Huke then joined in to provide illustrations for the accompaning music video.

The video proved to be extremely popular and has had millions of views.  Then the merchandising started.  Good Smile Company got involved and started making BRS figures, a short straight-to-video anime was made, and there's even a manga.  And now there's this game.  The actual stories are all over the place, though.  There isn't actually any connection between the anime OVA and this game, other than that they both feature BRS.  I believe there is actually another anime in the works that will be a TV series starting in January.

So yeah, the origins of this game are saturated with Japanese fandom.

Oh goddammit! Now I have to start giving a fuck about this game.

Not that I'm ungrateful that we're getting this but I'd much rather have one of the Growlanser PSP games or Queen's Blade/Gate instead.

Well, at least it'll fulfill my 'games made with rampant lesbian overtones' quota for the year.

I was honestly considering importing the edition with the Figma figure... but I couldn't justify the price. I'm glad I didn't, although I doubt NISA will offer that figure. :P

Well, idk. They have that LE preorder of Disgaea 4 up, the crazy $120 version with a bunch of figures. Maybe they'd do the same for BRS?

Pat, there was also an edition that came with.. I think it was a Good Smile figure. But the Figma is really nice and pretty limited.. if NISA brought some over, they can definitely have all of my dollars.

Most NIS games come with some sort of LE. I'd like the figure as well but I'll take a soundtrack and artbook like what they did with Ar Tonelico 3. Just have to wait and see. This will probably be the last PSP game they localize so maybe they'll decide to go out with a bang and offer something really nice with it.
