Final Fantasy 3: Best RPG Ever? - Counterpoint 2

While I am forced to agree with Alex's opinion that Final Fantasy 3 was lacking in a few areas, I do indeed feel that Square has been slipping in the RPG department ever since they moved over to Sony.

Yes, I am a late commer to the RPG genre. The first RPG I ever played was Final Fantasy 7, however, the fact that the newer RPG's have much more "eye-candy" does not suede me from my opinions. They are a plus, but not the determining factor.

After playing Final Fantasy 7, I decided to go back to the roots. I pulled out my old Super Nintendo and found a shop that sold old copies of every game ever made. I purchased Final Fantsy 2 and 3, Chrono Trigger, and Lufia. And I must say that all of them are a blast to play , even without the superb graphics that most people have become accustomed to.

I agree that Final Fantasy 3 is not the best RPG ever, but I have to say, at least in my mind, that Chrono Trigger is the best thing to come from Square. The story, characters, and graphics are excellent. I have even seen a few Playstation games that have worse graphics that Chrono Trigger.
