Squaresoft

Square soft has lost their touch over the last couple of years, and they make no effort these days in making a quality game. They hire people on their ability to do graphic arts alone, and their scenario writers are all generic authors with no imagination. I felt Final Fantasy 7 was a spectacular game, and Final Fantasy Tactics as well.

Since the release of Final Fantasy Tactics most of the development that worked on that game have left Square and went off and made Ogre Battle 64. They lost Amano, for whatever reasons. It does not matter why they lost him, but Square Executives think bringing him back will attract people to Square again, and I suppose it may work on some people. But I think the return of the fantastic artist isn't enough. They need to come up with an imaginative game that has something new for players. But I ultimately think the worst thing they ever did was to go into business together with Electronic Arts.....they have ultimately ruined Square Soft. I think... no... I know the future of Video Game RPGs rests in the very intelligent and competent hand of Enix. Mark my words folks, Enix, is the future of RPG's, not Square....
