Fan Art II: The Returning
March 28th, 2002
It is said that every time a website opens a fan art section, an angel gets a nice pair of wings. Well, there's an angel with some nice wings flying around somewhere. Probably very expensive, flamboyant, uber wings. I'll take this opportunity to tell you folks how this section came into existence.
Every year, a RPGFan editor of Rudo's choice in sent on a very special mission: To intercept planes carrying childrens' letters to Santa. You see, most of these children probably play video games and the like, so naturally, their wishes could help us reach you, the reader. 96% of the letters wanted a fan art section on RPGFan. Yes, 96% percent of the children of the ENTIRE WORLD wanted a fan art section on this very site. So either the children of the world are extrememly intelligent artists, or I read the letter graph wrong and it was 9.6%. Whichever one it was, you lucky people now have a fan art section.
Now that you know how this glorious piece of human achievement came into existence, I need to list the basic rules when submitting artwork. Here goes.
-You may submit art made with the traditional mediums: Paints, pencils, markers, felt pens, inks, watercolors, etc. Also, you may use computer graphics such as bitmap, vectorial, 3D, etc.
-Send your file as a JPEG, GIF, or PNG. The file should not exceed 500kb in size. Please, don't sent multiple files at once. Also, we may have to resize the image to fit with our space constraints.
Please include the following information with your submission:
- The name you would like to be listed as,
- Your personal gallery's URL if applicable,
- The title of your work and game it's based on,
- A short comment about your picture.
Some other things you should know:
-Do NOT steal other peoples' artwork and say it is your own. If you're caught doing such nonsense, we won't accept anything you send in the future.
-We maintain the right to not post pics with excessively violent, erotic/pornographic,
defamatory, racial or any other kind of controversial content. A lot of our readers are minors. Keep that in mind.
For a more in-depth rule thingie, read the Fan Art submissions FAQ. It's right over there to your left. See it? I thought so. Oh, and before I forget, everyone thank Lege for being so generous with his J-Punk.net server stuffOrz. Okay... here's what you really want: the artwork. We have eleven, count `em, eleven delicious pieces for you today. Each one slow roasted and seasoned to perfection, dripping in the secret sauce, with all the fixins'. Don't forget to send more for next update, kiddies. Remember that if you don't, oh you'd best believe that's a paddlin'.
