Backlogs
1/28/06

Backlogs. In a genre where having 40+ hours of gameplay is considered a good thing, it can take several months for a busy person to finish an RPG. Unfortunately, I usually can't spare the time for an RPG during the semester. I've made a habit of buying RPGs and then not playing them; I like to think of myself as a... Collector of sorts. In 2005 I bought Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Digital Devil Saga, Digital Devil Saga 2, and Stella Deus all of which I haven't finished. I was able to complete one RPG in 2005, however: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, which I purchased in December 2004. I like to think that I'm preparing for the worst: if I ever have to spend a week in the hospital, I'll have plenty of games to play.

What does this have to do with fan art? Well, now have Fan Art than I can post, thanks to the efforts of our readers and artists... Leading to the development of a backlog of sorts. Hopefully this will lead to more frequent updates, more variety in art styles, and a larger variety of games.

I'd like to make one request, from the artists out there, however. Please read the Fan Art FAQ if you'd like to submit. I've received a couple of emails asking me how to submit, and some containing a single sentence and an attached file. The reason the email formatting guidelines are in place is so I can distinguish between spam and submissions. As much as I love Fan Art, I'd rather not load random viruses onto my computer.
