Final Fantasy VII

Aeris
By Little Washu [ 01-17-01 ]

When I first met you,
We were on the street,
I gave you a gil,
You gave me a treat.

The next time I saw you,
You were nicer than ever,
Tending your flowers,
Now and forever.

Your bodyguard,
I then became,
There was something about you,
I just couldn't name.

Your pretty green eyes,
Your long brown hair,
Your soft pink lips,
The dress that you wear.

No.

If I wanted to find out,
I had to be patient,
For I soon discovered,
That you were an Ancient.

We had many good days together,
I've never forgot,
For I will treasure these moments,
I won't let them rot.

But let me ask you a question,
Why you ran away,
You made me worried,
Is all I have to say.

You were all by yourself,
Deep in Ancient forest,
Sephiroth was there,
Putting you to the test.

I chased after you,
I hated the thought of you alone,
I finally found you praying,
Just sitting there like a stone.

Trying to cut you,
What was I thinking?
I'm being controlled again,
My heart is sinking.

Sephiroth was the reason,
For you to die so soon,
Piercing your tender heart,
With his masamune.

Evil he is,
If I must say so,
Watching your white materia,
Fall to the water below.

Believe me,
It wasn't a pretty sight,
Leaving another Jenova creature,
For us to fight.

Carrying your lifeless body,
Outside to the pond,
It isn't easy losing the person,
Of whom I was most fond.

Watching your body,
Sink to the ground,
It's going to be hard,
Without you around.

But still it feels,
Like you are near,
I can sense your carefree spirit,
Somewhere around here.

Back at our meeting place,
The city of Midgar,
Where all is peaceful,
And no longer at war.

In your old little church,
I can see your soul,
Still planting flowers,
Row by row.

Now I know,
You can truly rest,
I had the best time with you,
I will never regret.

I know you are gone,
But I have one final request,
Aeris, rest in peace,
And I wish you the best.
