The Best (and Worst) Final Fantasy Games
April 8, 2011
No series is more identified with RPGs in the general public consciousness than Final Fantasy, and with good reason – the list of its main and spin-off games is a mile long. Some are amazing and some are awful, and anyone who likes RPGs has probably played at least one of them. Of course, there are so many Final Fantasy games that few gamers have played them all, so we thought it might be helpful if we separated the wheat from the chaff.

Just to note, since we've been asked: These lists were compiled based on individual feedback from most of the staff. You may notice some runners-up that made both 'best' and 'worst' lists, simply because there were some wildly varying opinions on certain titles, which got cast votes on both ends of the spectrum.

Thus, we proudly present our lists of the best (and worst) of Final Fantasy, split into the three categories you see below. What made the cut? Some of the choices may (or may not) surprise you.

Best Mainline Titles Best Sub-Series and Sequels Worst Mainline Titles
