Fable: The Lost Chapters

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

Spells, Yells, and Knells
One of the great joys for us here at the Fable studio was seeing the new spells plopped into the game one by one. Not only did they provide the player with novel toys, but as they went in one by one we noticed certain synergies and play-styles developing. We now share these with you:

Matrix: Slow Time + Multi Arrow
For those with fingers the size of a bratwurst, or the dexterity of a sedated okapi, Slow Time takes the sting out of combat. With one simple gesture, time (unsurprisingly) slows to a crawl, allowing you to see the look of horror on your victims' faces as you smack them in the nads with a frying pan, pinwheeling away into the night in graceful curves. Sigh.

For those who like to keep their friends close and their enemies... really far away (you archers know who you are!), Multi Arrow provides you with four homing multi-arrow shots to use at your convenience. With each shot, six arrows will radiate out, and then home in on your unfortunate target. Forget Neo - you now own the equivalent of a medieval shotgun!

Used in conjunction with Slow Time, you will have the ability to pick off enemies when you choose, and massively reduce the chances of being hit. A group of bandits baying for your blood? Cast Slow Time, back off, then cast Multi Arrow and pepper the ne'er-do-wells with lovely glowing arcs of arrowy death! Who could ask for more? Trolls causing a few problems? No matter! Multi Arrow shots know all the weak points, and if you're Slowing Time, dodging those boulders will be no trouble at all. This combo is a particular favourite.
