If you want action in your RPGs, few are more frantic than The World Ends With You. Not only are different battle skills executed via unique stylus movements, but the microphone and Dance Dance Revolution style button presses are used as well. Initially, the game feels like simultaneously patting your head and rubbing your tummy, but it soon becomes addicting. The Beyblade style mini-game Tin Pin Slammer tests strategy and reflexes as well. If the action becomes too overwhelming, the game has a myriad of options to adjust player AI and multiple aspects of difficulty. For its innovative yet frantically fun take on action-RPG gameplay, The World Ends With You wins this award.
