PSP RPG of the Year - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
The PSP didn't have a particularly great year when it comes to RPGs. A few standouts were a remake of a SNES classic, Star Ocean: The First Departure, a re-release of Yggdra Union (formerly a GBA game), and then Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a prequel to the PS1 classic. We'll take the only original game over remakes any day. Even though this was the first time North America got to play Star Ocean 1, Crisis Core's compelling story, simplistic and fun battle system, beautiful graphics, and killer soundtrack quickly brought it to the top of the PSP RPGs for 2008.
