It has been a beautiful year; birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and on years like these, RPG fans like you... should be playing Undertale! Undertale is maybe one of the most refreshing and fun games to come out this year, and it's no surprise as to why. It has a wonderful cast of characters, funny and witty dialogue, a unique twist on the RPG battle format, and an amazing soundtrack to boot. If it wasn't for its obviously dated graphics, you'd never expect it was an indie game. Best of all, it is only 10 bucks, so if you don't pick up Undertale there is a good chance you're going to have a bad time. Just remember not to get dunked on!

We at RPGFan tend to laud titles with deep narratives that either make us reflect or sob. Sometimes they simply offer escape. Rarest of all, they make us dance. Crypt of the NecroDancer is one such title that seamlessly meshes the roguelike and rhythm genres. While the story doesn't score many points, the game design and personality bust a move onto our awards this year. Although more of a roguelite, Crypt offers a bevy of items to unlock, ten characters with unique play styles, and a soundtrack that haunts the heart. Most of all, we're impressed with its creativity and addictive gameplay. After a hard week, some people like to get their groove on at the local discotheque, but if jivin' isn't your thing, you can always let your fingers do the dancing.
