Dreamcast To Include Modem

Contrary to recent rumors, Sega of America has confirmed that the Dreamcast, their upcoming system, will include a 56K modem when it is released in the US on September 9, 1999. The system will retail for $199.

In my opinion, this is a brilliant move by Sega, as it gives the Dreamcast's internet play capabilities a chance to be more than just a niche-market sensation. Everyone who has a Dreamcast will have a modem, so everyone will have an opportunity to try out the internet features of the promising new system.
