What is Mother 3.5?

The game Mother 3, known to us as Earthbound 64, is starting to get some more hype. The game has been kept a huge secret for the last six months, but the development is going well. The game will even be playable at Space World, Nintendo's game show later this month in Japan.

Recently, the producer of Mother 3 revealed one important detail to the Japanese press. He stated that an add-on to Mother 3 was in the works. The game, which has been given the current title of "Mother 3.5," would come out on the 64DD (Nintendo's add-on to the N64). No actual gameplay details about Mother 3.5 were made, but it is expected to be a totally new quest with new characters, while using the same engine that Mother 3 uses.
