New Legend of Dragoon Characters Revealed

Legend of Dragoon is Sony's next major non Square or Enix RPG. It has graphics that owe more than a little bit to Final Fantasy VII, but obviously the two games are completely different.

Legend of Dragoon is said to contain 108 races indentified by numbers. These races cover everything from dragons to giants, and even gods.

The three new characters each hail from a different race. Leenus is one of the last descendants of the wing men. Typically enough, she is a powerful magic user. Ravits is a dragoon who is eventually saved by Dart. After regaining his freedom, Ravits joins Dart in his quest. Lastly is Kongol. Kongol is part of a clan of giants. He is supposed to be a heavy hitter in battle, using 100kg axes as his main weapons. Kongol initially sees Dart as an enemy.

Legend of Dragoon also sports some kind of strange "additional system". This system works similarly to Squall's gunblade add-on strike during encounters in Final Fantasy VIII. While in the heat of battle, tapping a button at the right time will produce unique combo attacks, or increase the power of a normal blow. This system also applies to casting spells during battle.

Legend of Dragoon should be available at your local importer sometime in early December.
