Final Fantasy IX Delayed.

To bottom line it, Final Fantasy IX has been pushed back from a possible release early next year, to an unknown time late next year.

Square's reasons for delaying the game are that it doesn't want to force Final Fantasy IX to go into direct competition with Dragon Quest VII.

Since Dragon Quest VII has been shuffling release dates all over the place, it was probably inevitable that it would coincide with FFIX's release peroid.

This has also caused Square to re-calculate their fiscal year earnings. Originally hoping to earn 38.8 billion yen by the end of the fiscal year, Square has now reduced it down to 25 billion.

Looks like Dragon Quest VII's delays aren't only affecting Enix anymore.
