Selling out Pokemon for a good cause

Today Viz is auctioning off autographed comics and graphic novels with eBay. Collectors and fans of Pokemon can bid for signed copies of comics, graphic novels and other items signed by Pokemon manga artist Toshihiro Ono. Proceeds from the auction go to the Japanese Community Youth Council.

"Kids are back to reading comics, thanks to titles like Pokemon, which in one year has had 15 different printings for the first issue and multiple printings for the following issues," says Oliver Chin, Director of Sales & Marketing at Viz. "Viz is pleased to offer signed Pokemon comics and memorabilia for auction at eBay with proceeds going to a good cause." Viz is an anime and manga distribution company, responsible for many titles such as Ranma 1/2, the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga, and of course, the Pokemon manga.

Shira Levine, Senior Category Manager of eBay's Books, Comics and Science Fiction adds, "eBay is delighted to have the participation of Viz on this page, and many thanks to them for allowing the proceeds to go to charity!"
