Dragon Warrior Returns to the U.S.

Long ago, many RPG fan's first fond memories of console RPGs started with the Dragon Warrior series (called Dragon Quest in Japan). For Nintendo owners, this was pure heaven, especially since U.S. gamers enjoyed 4 Dragon Warrior titles on the NES. Enix disppeared from the U.S. soon after and the series seemed to be doomed to stay in Japan. Therefore, no Super Famicom Dragon Quest games ever hit our shores so we sadly missed 5 and 6.

While Dragon Warrior Monsters isn't going to revolutionize the way RPGs are played nor make up for the two Dragon Quest games we missed, it IS the return of the Dragon Warrior series to the states and it might get gamers interested in this series once again prior to the possible release of Dragon Quest VII in the U.S.

But all of that is far off. Let's instead focus on DW Monsters, which will be for the Gameboy Color. We have 5 screen shots, 5 pieces of artwork, and 1 packaging scan. Also, don't forget our 19 Japanese screen shots that show a lot more in terms of the battle engine.

You can expect DW Monsters to hit stores late this month!
