Final Fantasy release dates shift

Square not content with Enix being the only company to shuffle around release dates, has completed its first successful delay. Final Fantasy IX is now set for a July release. Final Fantasy X won't be coming out until spring in 2001, with Final Fantasy XI being delayed to fall of next year. If all this Final Fantasy didn't finally finish your desire for more adventuring, Columbia Pictures has opened a web site for the new Final Fantasy movie that is currently in the works.

Unfortunately, the site is a bit light on content at the moment, with only mild teaser information such as a brief synopsis of the backstory readily available.
