Friday News Part 2!

It was confirmed today by sources within Working Designs that their lead programmer, Timon Trzepacz, has given his two weeks' notice. Trzepacz has worked on WD games such as Magic Knight Rayearth, Lunar:SSSC, and Alundra. He was currently working on Lunar: Eternal Blue at the time of his departure. No word yet on whether the release dates for Working Designs' year 2000 (and beyond) lineup, like Lunar: EB and others, will be affected. Trzepacz will be working on developing original content, though it isn't known which company he will join.

Record of Lodoss War: The Advent of Cardice is due out in Japan for the Dreamcast on June 29th, retailing for 5800 yen. As in the anime, the game takes place on the cursed island of Lodoss. You play a soldier revived by an old magician, after which you set out against the devil himself for revenge. Using a 2D quarter view in battles, the game play is similar to Diablo and Gauntlet Legends. You discover different weapons and armor in your quest, and numerous characters aid you by automatically attacking enemies.

Agetec will be showing 2 Playstation 2 RPGs at E3 in 13 days. Neither has a title yet, but the descriptions of each are as follows: "...a first person role playing adventure game, and an action RPG that features a complete new and unique dress up system where you are judged on what you are wearing (you can wear a pot on your head and use a pan for a weapon). Sorry hon, but you'll never be Miss Dairy Queen with that getup.
