Sakura Taisen 3 Screen Shots Collection

Released 4 days ago in Japan, the Dreamcast remake of Sakura Taisen (check our previous update for more info) carried a precious item for us Sakura Taisen fans: a bonus CD containing -- amongst other things -- a trailer movie of Sakura Taisen 3: Is Paris burning?, the next installment in the series coming this Autumn on the Dreamcast.

This trailer is the same as the one shown in the Sakura Project 2000 conference last october, with the exception of a short sequence featuring Sakura yelling Oogami's name, added at the end of the trailer.

The trailer starts as Oogami arrives by train in Paris and heads to the Kagekidan. The title appears, and we get introduced to the five girls of the Paris Kagekidan: Erica, Glycine, Coquelicot, Lobelia and Hanabi, as the traditional song Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan starts playing (note that the final game will feature a new opening song, though). The song then fades off as the trailer shows much darker events: explosions in the streets of Paris, fires, even a half broken Eiffel Tower. The burning city then gets invaded and engulfed by ice, as the picture fades to a black screen with the title and the catch phrase "release expected before the end of the 20th century". The game looks really amazing with its unique mix of 3D backgrounds and anime art, and the visual effects look very good so far. Sakura Taisen 3 promises a lot, at least graphics-wise. This trailer introduces us to some of the places of the game, such as the Chattes Noires theater in which the new Kagekidan will perform; some of the bad guys can be briefly seen in the trailer as well, though nothing is known about them yet. The appearance of Sakura, who's supposed to appear only as a guest in this episode, is a surprise.

We have 78 screen shots of the Sakura Taisen 3: Is Paris burning? trailer movie right here, and two character sketches and some updated artwork here! And be sure to watch RPGfan for more Sakura Taisen pictures in the near future!
