124 Valkyrie Profile Screens

With the North American release of Valkyrie Profile less than a week away, RPGFan brings you 124 screen shots showing the introduction animation, the prologue, the first dungeon, special attacks, part of the menu interface, and key scenes from the first two chapters.

Playing as Valkyrie, you must seek the souls of dead fighters, train them, and send them up to Valhalla to aid Odin in his war against Vanir. The game contains eight chapters, each with 24 periods. Traveling to locations from the overworld requires a certain number of periods so your time to gather warriors is limited. How successful your fighters are in Valhalla dictates which ending you get.

From the first few hours of the game, it's apparent that tri-Ace created an RPG filled with countless decisions and it's beaming with innovation. Will a combination of unique gameplay coupled with amazing 2D sprites, hand-drawn backdrops, and emotional story scenes be enough to sustain an enjoyable adventure?
