Sega Announces Sakura Taisen Dreamcast System

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. After the limited edition Sakura Taisen VMS and Puru puru pack, it's now the Dreamcast itself that gets a Sakura Taisen edition. Sega has announced not only a ST system but a full set of new Sakura Taisen products:

  • Sakura Taisen Dreamcast System, to be released on December 26th for 25,800 yen (about $245), along with a Sakura Taisen VMS (it's not known yet whether the VMS will be the same as the one in the Sakura Taisen LE).

  • Sakura Taisen Kinematron - Hanagumi Mail, a DC mail software featuring the ST characters. Fans of the series will notice the software is inspired by Sakura Taisen 2's Kinematron, an early video-phone system. The Hanagumi Mail will come with yet another movie disc of Sakura Taisen 3 and should be out on December 26th.

  • Sakura Taisen controllers, 2,500 yen (about $24) each, coming out on December 28th.
  • Needless to say, there's practically no chance for the system or accessories to be released outside Japan... So if you want to import them, start saving now :)
