Japanese Choose Favorite FF Track

A month or so back, Square started a poll of Japanese gamers on their website, PlayOnline, to find out which track from Square's hit RPG series, Final Fantasy gamers would most like to have arranged and lyricized for the upcoming Final Fantasy X. Well, the wait is over, and the winner by a landslide with 1794 votes is Aeriths's Theme from Final Fantasy VII.

Runners up were Hittori Ja Nai from Final Fantasy IX with 559 votes, Fight at Big Bridge from Final Fantasy V with 309 votes, Aria Di Mezzo Carattere from Final Fantasy VI (which, incidentally did get lyricized, quite nicely too) with 283 votes, Searching Friends from Final Fantasy VI with 266 votes, Itsuka Kaeru Tokoro from Final Fantasy IV with 257 votes, and Tina's Theme from Final Fantasy VI (which also got the arrange and lyric treatment) with 254 votes.

Aerith's Theme will be arranged and lyrics will be added, sung by JPop star Rikki, who also performs the Final Fantasy X theme song. Both songs will be released together on a Maxi Single CD in Japan later this year.
