Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 To Require Fee in US

Early this year when Phantasy Star Online was announced for a US release, Sega of America was considering charging an online fee to play the game, much like many online PC RPGs. In the end, PSO ended up bring free (besides the cost of buying the game of course). So of course most assumed this trend would continue with PSO Version 2, upon it's release here in July.

Well, this should teach people to not assume. Sega of America announced today that the game would require a fee to play online in the US, though didn't state how much it would be. One would hope it would be a small fee, that most PSO fans wouldn't have too much of a problem with, being used to the game being free. We'll keep you updated as this develops, and bring you an actual price as soon as its known.
