As announced two weeks ago, a PlayStation remake of the NES classic Dragon Quest IV: The Guided Ones is currently in the works. But unlike the previous SFC remakes of Dragon Quest I & II, and III, this port will offer more than enhanced graphics. The field will be made into 3D just like the 3D field seen in Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden. More elements inspired from Dragon Quest VII will be incorporated in Dragon Quest IV, such as the party chat system.
While no precise date has been given, the title should be released sometime this year. Enix is aiming to sell one million copies of the remake - the original had sold 3.1 million - and the price announced is 6.800 yen (approx. $56), slightly more than the typical Playstation game (5.800 yen).
