According to Mainichi, Namco plans to sell about 600,000 copies of Monolith Soft's highly anticipated prequel to Square's PlayStation hit RPG Xenogears. This sales figure appeared in an interim financial report, in which sales projections for Namco's early 2002 line-up for PlayStation 2 were revealed.As a reference, Xenogears has sold slightly below 1 million units in Japan since its release in 1998.
Xenosaga Episode 1: "Der Wille zur Macht" is currently slated for a February release in Japan, with a US release following in late 2002.
