Bioware Shuts Out Interplay

After a number of lawsuits over the past few months, Bioware stated that, "Interplay has breached contracts with BioWare by sublicensing distribution of BioWare games to third parties without the knowledge or consent of BioWare." BioWare, along with a French developer, also allege that Interplay have failed to pay them their earned royalties.

What does this mean for NeverWinter Nights? Bioware says the game is still in development, due to be released early next year, but will not be published by Interplay. No word yet on who the publisher will be., but considering Bioware's reputation, they shouldn't have a problem securing another publishing deal.
