The first antagonists have been revealed: The evil-looking Margulius and his aide-de-camp Pelegry, both of whom are members of the powerful U-TIC group. U-TIC is considerably powerful, and even superior to government and armed forces. While Margulius is U-TIC's commander and will play a very central role in Episode 1, his long-standing assistant Pelegry carries the rank of a general.

Headed by Gaignun Kookai, the Kookai group is far less threatening than U-TIC: It tries to save victims of "life recycling". Among its other members are J.R., an already unveiled playable character as well the Godwin sisters, Mary and Shelley.

Furthermore, it was announced that Xenogears' real-time battling minigame will make its return in Xenosaga.

Published by Namco, Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille zur Macht is set for a February 28th release in Japan, with a US release yet to be announced.
