New Final Fantasy XI Details

Square has updated the official Final Fantasy XI website with a lot of interesting tibits on the game's mechanics.

Communication in Final Fantasy XI can be done by either using the "say", "shout", "tell", "party" or "link shell" options. Furthermore, players can input ICQ-like commands a la /smile or /nod, to let their character express certain emotions. Players can trade their items among themselves and NPCs.

It was also revealed that players will be able to choose not only their character's race, but also his/her job among the following: Warrior, monk, white mage, black mage, red mage and thief. Each job will come along with the usual: its own special abilities.

After many tiring battles and endless journeys through the wide, wide world of Vana Dir, you can rest up in your very own home, sweet home, which is located in a special residential area. After logging in for a new online session you will find your character in his/her compound again.
