Square has announced that an official announcement regarding both the release of Final Fantasy XI, as well as future projects will be made sometimes next week.Recently rumors appeared on the internet, saying that Square might delay the release of Final Fantasy XI to boost the sales numbers for their upcoming PlayStation 2 RPG, Kingdom Hearts, which is currently set for a March 28th release.
For reference, Square has registered the trademarks "Chrono Break" and "SaGa Unlimited," hinting at sequels to two of their most popular RPG series. Also the company had confirmed the development of PS2 remakes of their PlayStation FF games, as well as a game based on the TV anime series Final Fantasy Unlimited, last year.
