Taito's Estpolis Gaiden (Lufia Gaiden - Ruins of Silence in the US) for GameBoy Advance was released in Japan yesterday.
In this latest incarnation of the Estopolis series, you play as a 14 year old aiming to become a treasure hunter. Having lost his dad when he was still young, the unnamed protagonist wants to become a great treasure hunter just like his old man, and so begins searching for him. On his quest he is joined by his childhood friends, Thomas and Rami, who also want to become a treasure hunters. The cast of characters is rounded up by Bau, a cheery, young fox fellow, a young sorceress called Rubius, and the swordsman Heidegger.
Estopolis Gaiden supports up to four players. The game is expected to be available on this side of the Pacific by fall 2002.
