Cryptic Studios has recently announced that NCSoft, the world’s largest independent online game company, will publish one of Cryptic Studios’ most anticipated MMORPG, City of Heroes.City of Heroes is a 3-D MMORPG in which players take control of a superhero whom they can customize however they like to fight crime in Paragon City, the game’s setting. Players will be able to join with other players to form a superhero team if they wish to do so.
City of Heroes introduces a unique method of leveling up. When the player starts the game, he or she is an unknown hero. Only by saving citizens and fighting evildoers does the player gain “Fame Points.” As Fame Points accumulate, players gain access to more weapons and powers. However, if the player constantly fails to save the citizens of the city or loses fights against enemies, their Fame Points will be lowered, restricting their access to the weapons and powers they had before.
City of Heroes has no set release date as of yet.
