Lost Kingdoms Info and Media

Until recently, the GameCube has been completely devoid of RPGs; fans have only had the promises of the forthcoming Zelda and Skies of Arcadia port to whet their appetites. However, Activision has beaten everyone to the punch with Lost Kingdoms (aka Rune). Developed by FROM Software, the story follows Princess Katia as she works to save the five kingdoms of Argyle.

Lost Kingdoms' gameplay centers around a card-based battle system. Over one hundred Guardian Creature cards can be collected throughout the game to be used against the many foes you'll be sure to meet. Cards are used to summon a variety of Guardian Creatures, who will be your main defense through Lost Kingdoms' promised twenty hours of play.

Once you've exhausted the single player story mode in the game, you can switch to the two player versus mode; a friend and yourself can use your collection of Guardian Creature cards to face off against one another.

Lost Kingdoms is currently due for a release this spring and should retail for $49.99.
