After a long wait for those anticipating the original Dreamcast release, Shenmue II for the Xbox was finally unveiled in working fashion on the show floor of E3. Featuring slightly enhanced graphics, and an English dub, we were able to play a bit of the game and get a feel for its new platform.
Unfortunately, the demo was limited only to QTE (Quick Time Events) segments, and did not allow free roaming--preventing our ability to directly compare it to the Dreamcast predecessor. While the fact that an English dub is in the works was impressive, we would have liked to play a bit more of the game than what was available.
We have 2 screens and 2 pieces of artwork for you to view, showcasing some of the advanced texturing and geometry in the Xbox port.
Shenmue II is currently scheduled for release here in the states this coming October. Check out our updated preview for more detailed info.
