Square quickly responded to the issue of Final Fantasy XI currently being capped at level 50 when the first few (3, to be precise) players met this barrier yesterday.Citing game balancing reasons, Square stated that while testers already have characters that are over level 100, Square felt that capping the players temporality at level 50 will allow new subscribers to be able to play without feeling a huge gap between levels.
Square also stated that level 50 is a level where no player can take on the toughest monsters by themselves and encouraged those already at level 50 to form parties and enjoy the team experience.
